Mit makabrem Witz und einer irritierenden Doppeldeutigkeit erz\u00e4hlt George Tabori die Geschichte der Deportation der Juden von Budapest nach Auschwitz \u2013 und damit auch von der unerwarteten Rettung seiner Mutter Elsa.<\/p>\n

Die Mutter, die an einem Sommervormittag des Jahres 1944 auf dem Weg zum Romm\u00e9spiel bei ihrer Schwester Martha ist, wird verhaftet und in den Zug nach Auschwitz gebracht. …<\/p>\n

Wegen dieses Umwegs erreicht sie die Wohnung ihrer Schwester erst abends.<\/p>\n

Das Banale und das Existenzielle, das Ungeheuerliche und das Sexuelle, das Ernsthafte und das L\u00e4cherliche dieser authentischen Begebenheit werden in dem 1979 uraufgef\u00fchrten und von Michael Verhoeven verfilmten St\u00fcck provozierend nebeneinander\n gestellt.<\/p>\n

George Tabori hat in Auschwitz seinen Vater und einen gro\u00dfen Teil seiner Familie verloren, seine Mutter ist wie durch ein Wunder von den Toren des Todes zur\u00fcckgekehrt.<\/p>\n

Er erz\u00e4hlt mit ihr und f\u00fcr sie diese Geschichte, bei dem die beiden nicht m\u00fcde werden, sich st\u00e4ndig kleinster Details zu vergewissern.<\/p>\n

Tabori tut es au\u00dferhalb jedes Pathos mit der Distanz der Zeit, mit einem weisen, zarten L\u00e4cheln bis hin zu makabrem Witz.<\/p>\n

Wie \u00fcberleben, ohne zu verraten? Das Unsagbare – wie darstellen?<\/p>\n

Und doch kann Tabori \u00fcber nichts anderes sprechen.<\/p>\n

Er tut es ohne Hass, ohne Schuldzuweisung mit seinem tiefgr\u00fcndigen, schwarzen Humor.<\/p>\n

Er zitiert die Ausnahme und verweist uns auf die Regel: Sein Happy End prangert nur mit umso mehr Wirksamkeit das Verbrechen an Millionen von Menschen an, die im Rauch \u00fcber Polen aufgegangen sind.<\/p>\n

In allen seinen Dramen geht es um die Erinnerung, um ihre Versinnlichung und Vergegenw\u00e4rtigung, um ihre Subjektivit\u00e4t und daher um die Frage, wer wie von seinen Erinnerungen erz\u00e4hlen kann.<\/p>\n

Sein Beitrag zum Theater im deutschsprachigen Raum ist untrennbar an dieses, sein gro\u00dfes Lebensthema gekn\u00fcpft, mit dem er sich \u00fcber Jahrzehnte kontinuierlich auseinander gesetzt hat.<\/p>\n

Es ist keine neue Geschichte in diesem Gedenkjahr, die er uns erz\u00e4hlt, aber es ist eine Geschichte, die man sich h\u00fcten muss, zu vergessen.<\/p>\n
